Applying for a Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC)

Thailand has implemented a new Digital Arrival Card (TDAC), which will be required beginning May 1, 2025, for all U.S. citizens visiting Thailand. Please follow these instructions to apply for your TDAC ahead of your program.

Registration must be completed within 3 days before arriving in Thailand.

Arrival Instructions

Airport Pick Up

What To Expect

Upon arrival, follow signs and make your way to the baggage claim area via passport-border control. Have your passport and flight documents ready; this will help speed up the process and reduce the amount of time you have to wait in line.

Once you have cleared immigration, follow the signs and make your way to the baggage claim area. Collect your luggage and exit into the arrivals area.

  • Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) in Bangkok
  • Chiang Mai International Airport (CNX)

The On-site Program Coordinator (OPC) will be waiting and holding a sign that says your university name and/or CIS Abroad.

Flight Delays or Cancellations

Lost Baggage

If your bags decide to take a later flight, don’t panic. If the airline loses your luggage you must file a report with the airline while you are still in the baggage area. It is much more difficult to file this report once you’ve left the baggage claim area. The information you will need to provide on that form include the following:

  • NAME (you can give your name)
  • PHONE # (give the site director)
  • ADDRESS (give the address where you are staying in Thailand)

The airline baggage claim service will usually give you a website and a code where you can track your misplaced bag if you want updates.
